Redskins assistant special teams coordinator Bradford Banta joins Saints staff

The New Orleans Saints have hired Redskins assistant special teams coordinator Bradford Banta to become their new special teams coordinator, the team announced on Tuesday. The Baton Rouge, native will return to his home state in his first opportunity as an NFL coordinator.

Banta, 46, spent the past three seasons in the same role on Redskins Coach Jay Gruden’s staff. Before that, Banta was with the Detroit Lions for six seasons as the assistant special teams coach and the assistant linebackers coach.
